The Holy Spirit School Newsletter is sent out via the Skoolbag App and is published on the Website each Thursday.
If you would like to receive an email when the newsletter has been published, please ensure that you have provided a current email address to the school. We will endeavour to upload all notes to the website so that parents are able to print them off if they are misplaced.
The Online Calendar is regularly updated to inform parents of upcoming events. Link to Calendar
There are many occasions throughout the course of the year, where we require volunteers to assist us at Holy Spirit. All volunteers to ACT schools must provide the school with their current Working with Vulnerable People card and sign in each time they are volunteering. You can apply for a (free for volunteers) WWVP card at…https://www.accesscanberra.act.gov.au/app/answers/detail/a_id/1804/~/working-with-vulnerable-people-%28wwvp%29-registration
In-class – Some classes use parent helpers on a regular basis – for extra assistance and support in classroom programs, small group work, cleaning, classroom support (laminating, cutting, sorting etc). Our School Banking program is ably run by a small group of volunteers.
Sport – There are many occasions where we require volunteers in the form of managers and coaches for our sporting teams. Having volunteers fulfil these roles enables us to provide our students with additional opportunities to represent our school. Volunteers are required for all of our Sports carnivals (swimming, athletics and cross country).
Community Events – Our community events such as the Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls and celebrations, and significant milestones (100 days of Kinder, Sacramental programs, Year 6 Graduation) are supported by our volunteer network.
Community Council – Holy Spirit’s Community Council is made up of nominated parents and carers who wish to make a regular contribution to the running of our school. Amongst other tasks, they are active and visible at school events, coordinating and running BBQs, and assisting teachers in hosting the Parent Information Night at the start of the year.
Parish – The Holy Spirit Parish is always looking for more volunteers to fulfil various ministries at weekend Masses. Teachers within the parish often assist in this capacity and parents are more than welcome.
Lunchtime Clubs – Throughout the course of the week, many of our staff forgo their lunch and run our lunchtime clubs. These clubs give the children an opportunity to participate in cross grade activities such as gardening, coding, drawing, football and basketball to name a few.

If your child requires medication during school hours, please complete the Request to Administer Medication Form.
All medication is required to be stored in the Front Office. The exception to this is Asthma Puffers – if your child is able to self-medicate. Please inform your child’s teacher if they have an Asthma Puffer in their bag.
